Sourdough oops


My starter didn't double so I'm not going to feed it at 12 hours as planned. Also, I think I used regular tap water instead of the spring water that I got specifically for it. Double argh.

I'm just not winning. It has bubbles though. I'll feed it around 3pm. Hopefully, it does what it should then.

By the way, it's pretty sour.

Tomorrow I'm going to attempt bread with this. I know. I know. It didn't double so it isn't ready. But, I've seen starters that look like mine being used. This bread attempt will let me know for sure. If it rises, I'm good to go. I'm going to follow the method on It calls for 1/4 cup of starter. I can spare that for my experiment.
